Trolling Motor Installation

Postby Barry » Mon Nov 20, 2017 7:32 am

Checking to see if anyone has installed a trolling motor on a Glacier Bay
I am considering installing a Rhodan 36V with an 84 in shaft on my GB 2665. Looking at the options, I am not sure that the front deck is sturdy enough to for this unit’s 120 lb of thrust. However, I could remove the windless and install it on the bow pulpit. Looks like, the bow rail would need to be cut to store the unit. Apparently the 36 v units are strong enough to handle a 26ft boat. Here is a tread of one installed on a 31ft Contender https://www.thehulltruth.com/florida-ge ... hodan.html and a video of one on a 37 ft Freeman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMoRHNwnOzo

Barry, while looking for some GB stuff I saw your post.
Did you install a Rhodan unit?
I have one on my 2240 Renegade. It is mounted on 1/2 “ aluminum plate.
I had to remove my windless because of metal interference on the GPS.
